Following its successful inaugural conference last year, SAWEA invites you to the second Academic hour for wind power at WindAc Africa 2017!
SAWEA strives to realise wind power investment in South Africa. Such investment recognises the abundant resource availability and growing private sector contribution to socio-economic growth, and seeks to build on all prospects for wind power. The theme of the WindAc Africa 2017 conference is thus Wind Power Without Borders.
It is our intention to establish WindAc Africa as the premier international academic conference on the continent. We are proud to be a part of the African continent and wish to facilitate the transfer of lessons learned in South Africa, within the region and globally. We do this with due consideration for boundary conditions, but with an eye on the potential for mutual knowledge sharing beyond geographical borders.
WindAc Africa discussions that cross geographical borders are part of envisioning a future for wind power that takes into account opportunities for innovation and for such innovation to be shared. Participants can count on a programme focused on presenting new knowledge covering the entire wind value chain and spanning technical, socio-economic, policy and environmental aspects, so that researchers can engage across academic disciplines.
Finally, with a commitment to growing industry capacity and building diversity, we actively encourage an exchange beyond the boundaries of academic credentials and strive for a mutually appreciative networking environment in which dialogues between experienced researchers, motivated students and wind industry actors can take place.
Come and learn about the latest global scientific findings in the wind power sector and look forward to inspiring and fruitful, factual discussions at WindAc Africa 2017.
We look forward to your participation and to meeting you.
